Working with Hamish Scaddings and his production team again (SEE SNOOKERED) we had already established a good relationship for the understanding of what he wanted and needed. All of the sound track was made using just an upright piano and the sounds twisted into varying forms for suspense. We choose the piano as organic and simple associating sound for the audience. The instrument can carry great gravitas and mood as a lone instrument. The main theme of the film was written with the scripts final drafts so the director could take a greater impression and tone onto the set for the shooting. The project has been a success for the backers Northwest Vision/British Film Council and forged for Mr Scaddings a powerful piece of work which is being confidently entered into the world film festivals of the year. We look forward to working with them all again on their next short or feature film. You will also note that Nicholas Wilton one of our team was the Assistant Director on the shoot, which also meant that any sound points, like the scream made below, he knew our requirements for the studio.
